Here I have been sitting in my warm office, working my tail off to
build my list and business, when I could have been out getting
hammered with fellow AM's. Thanks for filling me in on the party that
I have been missing. See You At the Bar!

As someone who is not currently active in this industry, I would just like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr Azam for penning analysis which is both succinct and accessible, while simultaneously being replete with insight and expertise.

Touche, as they say. It's like you can read my mind.

Glad you raised the 'taboo' issue of alcohol. I like a drink myself but in my last couple of years in AM I have been surprised at the single minded focus of many people to just want to get drunk. Are people's personalities so lacking that they can't have a good time without getting p***ed?

I always make a point of reading what you write Nadeem, whether it's on the forums, on some website or in a newsletter, as you're incisive and witty (though not sure if people in AM would pick up on your many allusions).

I suggested to my friend who also does aff marketing that we attend some of the events and she just wasn't interested because they all seem to have a drinking culture attached to them and not everyone's into that. I'm not sure the City would hold that against anyone though because its riddled with booze mentality itself.

Indeed, absolutely dead on. I particularly agree with your comments about many affiliates not being prepared to create unique content. 2008 will be the year where many affiliates must change or die... Unique content and clever sites will cut the wheat from the chaff as things get tighter in the industry.

Personally, I'm well up for the challenge and can't wait to see what 2008 throws at us all.

Happy New Year Nadeem!
