With the Coronavirus pandemic having slammed the doors shut on physical industry events for the last fourteen months and no sign of them returning imminently, at Azam we’ve been suffering cabin fever, spending our days in front of our computer consoles servicing our valued clients without the change of environment that conferences and award ceremonies afford us. At least one and usually many more of us would make tracks to at least fifty industry events a year, either in the capacity of an attendee, a speaker and/or an exhibitor.

Feeling nostalgic for a world before COVID-19, it dawned upon one of our long-standing team members that it’s been exactly ten years since we attended the memorable 2011 edition of the Performance Marketing Awards.

Launched in 2007 and held every year since, this gathering celebrates Power Marketers in the UK and beyond: those individuals and companies that can hurl more leads and sales at an advertiser than there are artefacts in the British Museum which rests ten metres away from our London headquarters.

After doing rather well in previous years, in 2011 the panel of judges had nominated us finalists in two categories: ‘Best Finance Publisher’ and ‘Best Lead Generation Campaign’.

It meant we had been finalists for an incredible ten awards in only three years. Demonstrating the breadth and depth of our agency, the categories were ‘Best Agency’ (twice), ‘Best Lead Generation Campaign’ (twice), ‘Best Paid Search Partnership’, ‘Best Advertiser’, ‘Best Affiliate Manager In House or at an Agency’, ‘Best Finance Publisher’ (twice) and ‘Best Use of Email’.

London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane was the venue, with over 700 agencies, advertisers, publishers and networks enjoying a night of fine dining, socialising and dancing. Compèring the glitzy black tie awards ceremony was the celebrated comedian Rufus Hound.

We recall with fondness Azam Marketing was once again triumphant, winning the ‘Best Finance Publisher’ category and also earning Highly Commended for ‘Best Lead Generation Campaign’!

The panel of celebrated industry judges from the likes of Yahoo!, Ogilvy and eConsultancy stated they selected Azam for the ‘Best Finance Publisher’ award for generating huge volumes of high quality leads and pushing the boundaries of innovation:

“Using innovative tactics to deliver a consistently increasing ROI, Azam Marketing’s approach through well-thought-out and proactive campaigns that take into consideration a heavily regulated financial sector has been rewarded with the Best Finance Publisher award this year.

“Azam Marketing’s campaign results show extraordinary commission generated for their partners through the past year, and are continually pushing the boundaries of their business.”

The panel of judges added:

“Judges applauded the innovative thinking that led to the creation of entirely new email creative by Azam that doubled conversion, thus having a significant impact on ROI not only for them but for all affiliates.

“One theme with many award winners this year is close collaboration and live technical implementations, which has led to new revenue opportunities for both parties.”
